Thermador Cooktop Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Thermador. If the cooktop is still inside its Thermador warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Thermador designs its cooktops
On Thermador gas cooktops and rangetops, the Star burners light by spark and automatic reignition, and ExtraLow burners that cycle on and off for very low heat. That system is sensitive to spills: a wet spark switch sets off clicking on every burner, and a cracked or dirty electrode leaves a burner that won't light or relight. Induction cooktops, including the Freedom Induction models, rely on power boards and a cooling fan under the glass; a blocked fan makes zones cut out. Radiant electric models lose elements and switches. We test spark and flame sensing on gas models, board output and fan function on induction, and element continuity on electric tops.
Common failure points on Thermador cooktops
- Spark switch wet, clicking nonstop
- Star burner electrode cracked
- ExtraLow burner not relighting
- Induction board failed
- Cooling fan blocked under the glass

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
ExtraLow cycles the flame off and relights it. If the spark electrode, reignition module or burner cap position is off, the relight fails. We check the spark system and flame sensing before replacing parts.
