Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work

Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Gaggenau designs its cooktops
Many Gaggenau kitchens use Vario modules: a gas burner, a wok burner, an induction pair, a teppan yaki plate or an electric grill, set in a row with a knob for each. Gas modules use electronic ignition and flame supervision, so a burner that catches and then dies the moment you release the knob usually has a dirty or failing thermocouple or flame sensor. Induction modules depend on power electronics and a fan pulling air from under the counter, and they will refuse to heat a pan that isn't magnetic. Teppan yaki plates heat from elements under a thick steel surface, regulated by a temperature probe. Illuminated knobs on the 400 series have their own lighting that can fail. We diagnose each module on its own.
Common failure points on Gaggenau cooktops
- Wok burner flame not staying lit
- Induction module power fault
- Teppan yaki element not heating
- Knob illumination failed
- Spark electrode cracked

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The flame supervision isn't holding the gas valve open. Usually the thermocouple or sensor is dirty, loose or worn out. We clean and test it, and replace it if it's reading low.
No. Every module has its own power and controls, so only the one that has failed needs attention.
