Bosch Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
In a lot of Northern Virginia kitchens the dishwasher is a Bosch, even when nothing else is. The brand also supplies stacked 24-inch laundry for tight closets, counter-depth refrigerators, wall ovens and induction ranges. We are an independent repair company, not a Bosch service provider, so a unit still inside the Bosch warranty should go to Bosch first. Once it is past that, we diagnose it in your home, tell you what failed and quote the repair for your approval.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Who actually makes a Bosch
Bosch-branded home appliances come from BSH Hausgeräte, based in Munich. BSH began as a joint venture between Bosch and Siemens, and Bosch has owned all of it since 2015. The same company makes Thermador and Gaggenau, so parts and design ideas travel between the three.
Many Bosch dishwashers and cooking products sold in the United States are built at BSH's plant in New Bern, North Carolina, which is part of why dishwasher parts tend to be easy to find.
Stacked laundry and quiet dishwashers in smaller homes
The 24-inch Bosch washer and dryer were made for spaces a full-size pair can't use. They show up stacked in a hall closet in an Arlington condo, or in the second-floor laundry nook of a townhouse where the floor below is a bedroom or living room. That location raises the stakes on a small leak, so drain and door-seal faults are worth dealing with quickly.
Quiet dishwashers suit open floor plans, which is one reason Bosch is so common in newer construction around Ashburn and in remodeled kitchens in older ramblers.
How Bosch design shapes the diagnosis
Bosch dishwashers dry mainly by condensation, and CrystalDry models use a zeolite mineral that releases heat as it absorbs moisture. Many models combine the circulation pump and water heater in one assembly. A float switch in the base pan shuts the machine down when water collects there, so an error code often points to where water went rather than to a failed part.
The compact dryers are ventless. They condense moisture into a container or send it to a drain, and some use a heat pump. There is no duct to clog, but the condenser, lint filters and water path need regular cleaning, and neglect there causes most no-dry complaints.
Rating plates and parts
Every Bosch carries an E-Nr (the model) and an FD number (the production run) on its rating plate. The FD matters, because BSH changes parts within a model over time. We note both, order from BSH or its distributors, and tell you before the repair if a part is an equivalent.
Bosch products we see
- Refrigerators: Counter-depth French-door and bottom-freezer models in the 500 and 800 Series, plus Benchmark built-ins. Defrost faults, fan motors, ice makers, water valves and hinges come up most.
- Washers: 24-inch compact front-loaders in the 300, 500 and 800 Series, and older full-size Nexxt and Vision washers. Drain pumps, door locks, bearings and control boards lead the repairs.
- Dryers: Ventless 24-inch condensation and heat-pump dryers, usually stacked on the matching washer. Condenser clogs, pump faults, sensors, belts and heater problems are typical.
- Dishwashers: Dishwashers from the 100 to 800 Series and the Benchmark line, a lot of them with CrystalDry. Leak trips, drain blockages, heat pump faults, door hinge cables and latches account for most calls.
- Ovens: Single, double and combination wall ovens, including speed and steam models in the Benchmark line. Elements, convection and cooling fans, door locks and sensors are the usual parts.
- Microwaves: Microwave drawers, built-in and over-the-range microwaves and speed ovens. Drawer motors, door switches, magnetrons, touch controls and vent fans are the typical faults.
- Freezers: Bottom freezer drawers on French-door models and Benchmark freezer columns. Ice makers, defrost heaters, fan motors, sensors and drawer slides need attention most often.
- Cooktops: Induction, gas and electric cooktops in 30- and 36-inch widths. Induction boards, cooling fans, touch controls, igniters and spark modules are the common failures.
- Stoves: Slide-in gas, electric and induction ranges that most owners call the stove. Oven igniters, bake elements, surface burners, sensors and door locks are frequent repairs.
- Ranges: Slide-in and Benchmark ranges in gas, dual fuel, electric and induction. Induction power modules, front touch panels, convection fans and oven igniters lead the list.
Parts for Bosch
Bosch parts come from BSH's own parts operation and a few authorized distributors. Dishwasher parts are the easiest to get because so many are installed, and several wear items also fit Thermador and Gaggenau machines. Compact laundry boards, some refrigerator controls and speed-oven parts can take longer. Each part is looked up against the E-Nr and FD number, confirm availability during the diagnosis, and mark any equivalent part as such in the quote.
Common Bosch Questions
Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.
Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
On the edge of the inner door, usually the top or right side, visible when the door is open. Photograph the whole plate, including the FD number, and send it when you book.
Bosch dries by condensation, so plastic, which holds little heat, often stays damp. Rinse aid helps a lot. If glass and dishes are wet too, a heater, rinse aid dispenser or drying fault is possible, and we can check it.
It should go to Bosch while it's covered, since we aren't part of their service network. After coverage ends, we can diagnose and repair it.
Usually. The stainless tub and racks last a long time, and the parts that fail are pumps, sensors, hinges and boards. We look at the machine's overall condition and tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
