Sharp Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
Sharp Corporation is a Japanese electronics company, majority-owned by Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) since 2016. In American kitchens it's known mostly for the Microwave Drawer, which Sharp presents as its own invention, along with over-the-range and countertop microwaves and a newer range of refrigerators. We work on Sharp appliances as an independent repair company. If yours is still covered by Sharp's warranty, contact Sharp first. After that, we diagnose it in your kitchen and quote the repair before we begin.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Sharp Products We Service
Consumer electronics roots
Sharp's appliances show where the company comes from: touch controls, sensor cooking, and a drawer microwave that glides open under motor power at the touch of a button. Recent drawers add touchless opening and app connectivity.
Sharp has also grown its US refrigerator lineup, with French-door and counter-depth models, so its fridges now turn up more often on service calls.
Under the counter, in the island, over the range
Drawer microwaves suit a kitchen island or a remodel where the owner wants the microwave below the countertop, and they're common in renovated colonials and in newer townhouses and condos with limited upper cabinets.
Sharp's over-the-range models are frequent in apartments and condos, where they also serve as the range hood. Removing one is a two-person job and sometimes needs building approval in a managed high-rise.
A drawer adds moving parts
A Microwave Drawer contains everything a regular microwave does plus a drive motor, a gear rack, slides and switches that tell the control where the drawer is. When a drawer won't open, stops partway or refuses to start, the fault is usually in that mechanism rather than in the cooking side.
We test the drawer hardware and the high-voltage components separately, so you pay only for the part that actually failed.
Sharp products we see
- Refrigerators: Sharp French-door and four-door refrigerators, including compact counter-depth models. Warm fresh-food sections from fan or defrost faults, ice maker trouble, clogged drains and control glitches are typical.
- Microwaves: Microwave Drawer ovens in 24- and 30-inch widths, over-the-range and countertop models. Drawers that stall, cooking that stays cold, interlock faults and worn touch panels are the common calls.
Parts for Sharp
Microwave parts for Sharp, including drawer motors, gear racks and switches, are sold through Sharp's parts program and the usual appliance parts wholesalers. Refrigerator parts aren't stocked as deeply, because the refrigerator line is newer to the US. We match parts to the model and serial number and give you an honest estimate of the wait.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Sharp Corporation is headquartered in Japan, but Foxconn, formally Hon Hai Precision Industry of Taiwan, has held a majority stake since 2016.
Usually it's the drawer mechanism: the motor, gear rack, slides or a position switch. We test those separately from the parts that do the cooking.
Yes. We diagnose cooling, defrost, ice maker and control faults and check parts availability before quoting, since some Sharp refrigerator parts take longer to arrive.
