Speed Queen Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
Speed Queen started in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1908, and the company it grew into, Alliance Laundry Systems, still makes Speed Queen washers in Ripon. Much of Alliance's business is commercial laundry, and the home machines borrow that heavy build. We aren't part of Speed Queen's service network. If your machine is still covered by the factory warranty, file the claim with Speed Queen. After the coverage ends, we diagnose at the machine and give you a price before any work.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Speed Queen Products We Service
Commercial laundry thinking in a home machine
The TC5 top-loader keeps a transmission-driven agitator and mechanical dials. Speed Queen brought that design back after owners objected to a 2018 redesign. The TR series offers similar hardware with electronic controls, and the FF7 applies the same heavy-duty approach to a front-loader.
Because these machines are simpler and heavier than most, many faults come down to parts you can test directly: a switch, a belt, a valve, a pump or the transmission.
From garden-apartment laundry rooms to townhouse closets
Commercial Speed Queen machines are a fixture in the shared laundry rooms of garden apartment complexes and in laundromats, usually taking coins or cards and often running Quantum controls. At home, they're chosen by people who want a machine that lasts, and they end up in basements, closets and upstairs laundry rooms.
Weight matters upstairs. A heavy washer spinning on a floor that flexes will walk and bang, and a failed hose on the second floor soaks the ceiling below, so we check levelers, hoses and the drain pan on every visit.
Fewer electronics, faster answers
On a TC5 with mechanical dials there are few places for a fault to hide. If it won't spin, the lid switch, the drain, the belt or the transmission is involved, and each can be checked directly. Electronic models add a board and codes but share the same mechanical parts.
Long parts availability means a machine many years old can still be a good candidate for repair.
Speed Queen products we see
- Washers: TC5 and TR top-loaders with a transmission and agitator, FF7 front-loaders, and commercial and coin-op washers. Lid switches, belts, pumps, water valves and transmission leaks are the usual findings.
- Dryers: DC5, DR7 and other gas and electric dryers, plus commercial single and stack dryers. Vent-related no-heat faults, elements, igniters, belts, drum supports and door switches come up most.
Parts for Speed Queen
Speed Queen parts reach us through Alliance Laundry's distributors and general appliance parts suppliers, and the company keeps many of them in production for a long time. Belts, pumps, valves, switches, igniters and heating elements are normally easy to get by model and serial number. Transmissions and electronic controls can take longer. Before you approve a repair, we confirm the part and give you a realistic estimate of when it will arrive.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Often, yes. They're designed to be serviced, parts stay in production for years, and the cabinet and tub hold up well. We'll tell you when a particular failure doesn't justify the repair.
Yes, for owners and property managers. We diagnose mechanical and control faults. Problems with the payment system itself may need the equipment vendor.
Call Speed Queen first so the claim is handled under the warranty. We're independent and can help once that coverage has ended.
They use more steel than most home machines. Moving one, particularly on stairs, takes care and often two people.
