Samsung Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
A Samsung appliance tends to report its own trouble. The display throws a two-character code, a sensor stops agreeing with the board, or the ice maker quietly quits because a duct has frosted shut. We work on Samsung as an independent company with no place in Samsung's service network. When a unit is still under Samsung's warranty, contact Samsung first. When it isn't, a technician tests it in your kitchen or laundry closet, tells you which part failed and gives you a price before anything is ordered.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

An electronics company that builds appliances
Samsung Electronics came to kitchens from phones, televisions and chips, and its appliances show it. Inverter-driven compressors and washer motors, touch controls, Wi-Fi modules and a long list of thermistors all feed a main control board. The US-market washers are largely built at Samsung's plant in Newberry, South Carolina.
That design means a Samsung repair usually starts with a meter rather than a wrench. A dead fan might be the motor, the harness or the board output driving it, and each one gets checked before a part goes on order.
Stacked pairs, condo kitchens and new construction
Samsung is a frequent pick for builder and renovation packages, so it turns up in many of the townhouses and condos around the region. In a townhouse the washer and dryer often stand in a closet off the upstairs hall, and a front-loader that walks or leaks there sends water toward the ceiling below. Mid-rise condo buildings near the Metro are often fitted out with a Samsung slide-in range and a matching over-the-range microwave.
Newer single-family builds in places like Ashburn tend to have the larger French-door and four-door Flex refrigerators with plumbed water and ice. Those lines are where frost and ice-maker complaints come from.
Reading a Samsung code the right way
Samsung's washers flag water supply as 4C or 4E, draining as 5C or 5E, and an unbalanced load as dC or UE, while door-lock trouble shows as dE, dL or a similar code depending on the model year. Dryers show HE or hE for heat problems and tS for a failed temperature sensor. Dishwashers use LC for a detected leak and OC for too much water in the tub.
A code names a circuit, not a part. A 5C can be a sock in the pump filter, a kinked hose behind the machine or a pump that no longer turns, and only testing tells them apart.
When the board is the problem
Samsung revises control boards, ice makers and fan motors during a model's production run. A replacement may arrive with a new part number or need a matching harness, so we order from the full model code and the serial number on the rating label.
On older machines, board supply is often the deciding factor. If the only fix is a board Samsung no longer makes, we say so at the diagnosis instead of letting you pay for a repair that can't be finished.
Samsung products we see
- Refrigerators: French-door, four-door Flex, Bespoke, side-by-side and bottom-freezer models. Frosted ice compartments, iced fans, defrost faults and water valve leaks are the usual reasons for a visit.
- Washers: Front-load and high-efficiency top-load washers, including stacked pairs in closets. Drain pumps, door locks, shock absorbers, water valves and 4C, 5C and dC codes fill most tickets.
- Dryers: Electric and gas dryers paired with Samsung washers. Heat loss, HE and tS codes, drum rollers, belts, igniters and clogged vent paths account for most calls.
- Dishwashers: Built-in dishwashers with top or front controls, some with a linear WaterWall spray system. Drain faults, LC leak codes, heater errors and door latch problems come up most.
- Ovens: Samsung wall ovens, single or double, plus the cavities in its ranges, some with Flex Duo dividers. Sensors, bake and convection elements, igniters and control faults are typical.
- Microwaves: Over-the-range, countertop and built-in Samsung microwaves. No heat, tripped door switches, weak vent fans, dead touch panels and turntable motors are the usual work.
- Freezers: Freezer compartments of Samsung refrigerators and convertible FlexZone sections. Frost on the back panel, fan failure and defrost circuit faults are the main complaints.
- Cooktops: Gas, radiant and induction cooktops, including induction models with a lit virtual flame. Spark modules, element faults, induction board errors and cracked glass are common.
- Wine Coolers: Built-in and freestanding Samsung beverage and wine units. A zone that won't hold its setting, a buzzing fan, a tired door gasket or an unresponsive control panel are the typical complaints.
- Stoves: The everyday side of a Samsung range: burners that click and won't catch, a smoothtop element that stays dark, or an oven that takes too long to preheat.
- Ranges: Freestanding and slide-in gas, electric, induction and dual-fuel ranges, many with Flex Duo, air fry or Wi-Fi. Igniters, sensors, elements, fans and touch controls are frequent repairs.
Parts for Samsung
Most Samsung service parts come through Samsung's own parts operation and several national distributors, and routine pieces such as drain pumps, door locks, inlet valves and thermistors are rarely hard to find. Boards and ice makers are the tricky category, because revised versions replace older ones and sometimes need an adapter harness. We match each part to the model code and serial number from the label, tell you when a newer revision is going in, and tell you early if a discontinued board rules the repair out.
Common Samsung Questions
Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.
Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
It depends on the warranty. While Samsung's coverage is active, Samsung should handle it so the repair costs you nothing. Once coverage ends, independent repair is an option. We aren't a Samsung-authorized servicer; we diagnose at your home, explain the fault and give a price you approve before work begins.
The full model code from the rating label, any code the display shows, and a short note on when the problem started. The label is usually inside the refrigerator door frame or on the washer's door rim or back panel. With those, the technician arrives knowing which circuits and parts are likely.
Usually yes. Many repairs on a stacked pair are done in place, and when the dryer has to come down to reach the washer, the technician does that as part of the job. Clearing shoes, baskets and shelving from the closet beforehand saves time.
