KitchenAid Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

KitchenAid is Whirlpool's upscale kitchen brand, and in many homes every major appliance in the kitchen wears the same badge. We repair KitchenAid appliances independently and have no tie to KitchenAid's own service program. If the factory warranty still applies, go through KitchenAid first. For anything outside it, we come to the kitchen, find the fault, and nothing gets replaced until you've approved the price.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

KitchenAid

From a Hobart mixer to Whirlpool's premium line

The KitchenAid name first appeared on a stand mixer from the Hobart Manufacturing Company in 1919. Whirlpool bought KitchenAid in 1986, and it has since grown into a full line of major appliances.

Whirlpool builds KitchenAid dishwashers at its plant in Findlay, Ohio. Across the line, many parts and platforms are shared with Whirlpool and Maytag, which is useful when an older KitchenAid needs a part.

Suites bought during a remodel

Around Northern Virginia, KitchenAid appears most often as a full suite installed during a kitchen renovation: a split-level whose kitchen was opened up, a townhouse with a new island, or a newer house in Ashburn where the builder offered a KitchenAid package.

Built-in fridges and wall ovens are fitted into the millwork, so when one needs a major repair, access and trim protection become part of the plan. We check how it was installed before quoting.

Features that add a repair path

KitchenAid's extras bring their own parts. FreeFlex third racks and ProWash cycles depend on sensors and diverters that plain dishwashers don't have, and ProDry models add a drying fan. Even-Heat True Convection ovens use a dedicated element around the fan. Built-in refrigerators put the compressor and condenser at the top, behind the grille.

None of these make a KitchenAid hard to repair, but they mean diagnosis has to account for what the model has before blaming the obvious part.

KitchenAid products we see

  • Refrigerators: Built-in side-by-side and French-door models with top-mounted machinery, and freestanding French-door refrigerators. Condenser fans, defrost faults, ice makers and water valves are common.
  • Dishwashers: Top-control dishwashers with FreeFlex third racks, ProWash and ProDry. The hand-cleaned filter, the drain pump, fill valve, latch and ProDry fan cause most service calls.
  • Ovens: Even-Heat True Convection wall ovens, from single and double units to combinations. Convection elements and fans, bake elements, temperature sensors and door locks need attention most.
  • Microwaves: Over-the-range, built-in, drawer and microwave-wall oven combination units. Magnetrons, door switches, convection elements, vent fans and touch panels are the usual faults.
  • Freezers: Bottom freezer drawers on French-door models and freezers in built-in side-by-sides. Drawer slides, defrost heaters, ice makers and evaporator fans are the parts replaced most.
  • Cooktops: Gas, electric and induction cooktops from 30 to 48 inches, including downdraft models. Spark switches, burner caps, radiant elements, induction boards and controls fail most.
  • Wine Coolers: 24-inch undercounter wine cellars, single or dual zone. Condenser fans, thermistors, door gaskets, compressor start components and evaporator fans are typical repairs.
  • Stoves: Freestanding and slide-in models most people call the stove, gas and electric. Oven igniters, bake elements, surface burners, oven sensors and glass tops come up most.
  • Ranges: Commercial-style gas and dual-fuel ranges, plus slide-in electric and induction. Burner ignition, convection parts, touch controls, oven sensors and door locks lead the repairs.

Parts for KitchenAid

Because KitchenAid is a Whirlpool brand, its parts move through Whirlpool's parts network and a wide set of distributors, and many are shared with Whirlpool and Maytag models. Common dishwasher, range and refrigerator parts are usually easy to get. Built-in refrigerator controls, trim, and some older oven boards can take longer. We look up parts from the model and serial number on the tag, confirm availability during the diagnosis, and say so when a part is an equivalent.

FAQ

Common KitchenAid Questions

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

Yes. Whirlpool has owned KitchenAid since 1986. KitchenAid appliances share many parts with Whirlpool and Maytag, though features and finishes differ.

Built-ins are costly to replace and sized to the cabinet opening, so repair usually makes sense unless the sealed system has failed on an old unit. We give you the diagnosis and an honest view.

It should go to KitchenAid first, as we are independent and not an authorized servicer. After the warranty, we can diagnose and repair it.

No. We work on major appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges and ovens. Stand mixers and small appliances go through KitchenAid or a small-appliance repair shop.
