Manitowoc Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
A Manitowoc that stops making ice rarely needs a mystery solved. The machine keeps track of its own freeze and harvest times, water level and bin, and the fault usually sits in one of those systems. We service Manitowoc machines independently and are not part of the manufacturer's authorized network, so a machine inside its warranty should be handled by Manitowoc's service partners. Once that coverage has ended, we come to your site, test the machine and quote the repair before touching it.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Manitowoc Products We Service
From Welbilt to Pentair
The brand is named for Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where it has long been based. For years it sat inside Welbilt; when Ali Group agreed to buy Welbilt, the ice business was sold separately to Pentair, and that deal closed in 2022. Pentair is primarily a water company, which fits a product whose biggest enemy is the water going into it.
Current machines include the Indigo NXT modular cubers with an easyTouch display, NEO undercounter cubers, QuietQube remote models whose noisy, heat-producing half lives on a roof or outside wall, plus flakers and nugget ice machines.
Sites that depend on ice
In Northern Virginia these machines sit behind bars and in restaurant back rooms, in hotel ice rooms and banquet kitchens, in office break areas and coffee shops, and in school and clinic kitchens. QuietQube systems suit rooms where compressor noise and heat would be unwelcome, such as an open bar or a pantry on an office floor.
Where the condenser sits shapes the service. An air-cooled head needs clearance on the sides and top. A remote condenser on a roof takes the full force of a July afternoon and needs a clean coil to keep up.
Water treatment decides most of it
Every cycle leaves a trace of minerals on the evaporator, the water trough and the distribution tube, and biofilm grows in the food zone between cleanings. Scale insulates the evaporator and fouls the thickness and water-level probes, which is why so many calls start with slow production or ice that won't drop.
A water filter changed on schedule, a cleaning and sanitizing cycle run at the interval in your model's manual, and a condenser kept free of dust prevent most of those calls. The optional LuminIce II module slows growth in the food zone but doesn't take the place of cleaning.

Parts for Manitowoc
Manitowoc parts move through the company's distributors and commercial refrigeration suppliers. Water pumps, dump and inlet valves, thickness and level probes, harvest components and bin switches are everyday orders. Every part is matched to the data plate on the machine, and if an equivalent part is what gets you making ice sooner, we tell you it's an equivalent.
Common Manitowoc Questions
Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.
Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Production has probably dropped. A dirty condenser, scale on the evaporator, a weak water pump or a restricted water filter all slow each cycle. Hot weather makes it worse on air-cooled machines. We check cycle times against what the model should do and work back from there.
Not necessarily. Many messages mean the machine stopped itself because a freeze or harvest cycle ran too long, and scale or a blocked water supply is often behind that. The display tells us which cycle failed, and testing tells us why.
Yes. We check the condensing unit outside, the ice-making head inside and the refrigerant lines between them. If the condensing unit is on a roof, let us know how access works in your building when you book.
