Dacor Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
The first question on any Dacor job is when it was built. Units from before 2016 came out of the original family company in California; newer ones share a lot of engineering with Samsung, which bought the brand that year. We fix both kinds, working independently of Dacor and Samsung service. Anything still inside the maker's warranty belongs with Dacor. If not, we find the fault, check whether the part still exists, and give you a straight quote before anything is ordered.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

From a California family business to Samsung
Stanley Joseph founded Dacor in 1965, and three generations of the Joseph family ran it. The company was known for firsts in cooking: an early 30-inch self-cleaning wall oven with its Pure Convection system, and one of the first pro-style dual-fuel ranges with sealed burners. Product families over the years included Epicure, Millennia, Renaissance, Distinctive and Discovery.
Samsung Electronics America completed its purchase of Dacor in 2016. Since then the lineup has been rebuilt around Samsung refrigeration, dishwashers and connected controls, with the Dacor name kept for the luxury tier.
Built-ins that outlast their controls
Dacor appliances in Northern Virginia homes are mostly built-ins from kitchen remodels: a double wall oven stacked in a tall cabinet, a gas cooktop in an island, maybe a pair of refrigerator and freezer columns. Many of those remodels happened years before the Samsung sale, so the ovens and cooktops in them have seen a lot of dinners.
The mechanical side of these units, elements, fans, igniters and door parts, holds up and stays repairable. The electronics are another story. Touch panels, relay boards and, on the Discovery iQ ovens introduced in 2013, an Android-based tablet controller can be hard or impossible to replace on older models. That's why we test everything around the board before we ever suggest replacing it.
Why fitting matters as much as the fault
A built-in oven or column refrigerator is cut into cabinetry to exact dimensions. Swapping it for another brand can mean new cabinet work, so a repair often makes sense even on an older unit. When the part simply isn't made anymore, we tell you that directly instead of letting a job drag on.
Dacor products we see

- Wine Coolers: Full-height wine columns and undercounter wine storage with separate zones. Zone sensors, fans, condenser airflow and door seals.
- Stoves: Freestanding gas and dual-fuel ranges used as the daily stove. Relight clicking, oven temperature drift, knob lighting and control freezes.
- Ranges: Pro-style all-gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges, some with griddle. Oven igniters, convection elements, burner valves and cooling fans.
Parts for Dacor
For Dacor units built after the 2016 acquisition, parts ship through Samsung's parts network and are usually easy to get. For older units, elements, igniters, convection motors, gaskets and hinges are often still available, but some control boards, touch panels and trim pieces have been discontinued. We identify the generation from the serial label, match parts by model and serial, and tell you when an equivalent is being used or when a key part is no longer made.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Usually, if the fault is mechanical. Elements, igniters, convection motors, probes and door parts are often still around. Where older ovens sometimes hit a dead end is the control board or touch panel, and we check that before you commit.
Yes, since 2016. Newer Dacor refrigerators, dishwashers and ovens share Samsung engineering, but plenty of Dacor ovens and cooktops still cooking today predate the sale and use the original company's parts.
Inside the warranty period, Dacor, since that repair is theirs to cover. Once it expires, the choice is yours. We are independent, find the fault at your house and price the job for your approval first.
