Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Dacor designs its cooktops
Dacor gas cooktops are known for lighted knobs and for relight ignition that re-sparks when a flame is lost. Both features create their own service calls. If sparking continues with a healthy flame already burning, the flame isn't reaching the electrode properly, usually because the cap has shifted or the electrode is dirty, or the relight module has failed. A dead knob light doesn't stop the burner from working, but it can point to a failed lighting supply. The usual gas issues apply too: clogged ports, stiff valves and cracked electrodes. On Dacor induction cooktops, the cooling fan and power boards take the place of those parts, and a fan clogged with dust causes zones to cut out.
Common failure points on Dacor cooktops
- Relight clicking with the flame on
- Knob lighting supply failed
- Relight module not sparking
- Cap shifted after cleaning
- Induction power board fault

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The relight system doesn't detect the flame. Usually a cap is off-center or the electrode is dirty. If both are right, the relight module is tested.
No, the burners still work. The lighting has its own power supply, which can fail. It can be replaced once it's diagnosed.
