Maytag Cooktop Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Maytag. If the cooktop is still inside its Maytag warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How Maytag designs its cooktops

Maytag built-in cooktops come in gas, radiant glass and induction. Gas models use a spark module wired to a switch at every knob; a boil-over that seeps under a knob can make all the igniters tick even with the burners off. Burner valves occasionally stiffen or leak past, and caps set crooked after cleaning make an uneven, yellow-tipped flame. Radiant glass tops use infinite switches or electronic controls to cycle each element, and an element can fail open or stay on. Induction models are mostly electronics: a power board, a user interface and cooling fans that need clear airflow under the counter. Cracked glass is its own repair. We test the element or switch before touching the controls.

Common failure points on Maytag cooktops

  • Spark switch shorted by spill
  • Burner cap seated off-center
  • Radiant element open circuit
  • Infinite switch stuck on high
  • Induction board error after surge

FAQ

Maytag Cooktop FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

Moisture or residue under a knob often keeps a spark switch closed. Letting it dry out and cleaning around the knobs can stop it. If it keeps clicking, the switch or module has failed and we replace that part.

Usually, yes. The glass is often sold as an assembly with the frame. We confirm availability from your model number and quote it so you can compare against a new cooktop.
