Viking Cooktop Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Viking. If the cooktop is still inside its Viking warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Viking designs its cooktops
On a Viking gas rangetop, the most familiar complaint is noise: every igniter snapping at once, even with all knobs off. That is SureSpark reacting to a spark switch that's been soaked by a pot boiling over or a wet cloth. Drying often clears it; if not, the switch is replaced. A single burner that sparks weakly or out of sight usually has a hairline crack in its porcelain electrode. Flames that lift, flutter or burn yellow point to a cap that isn't sitting on its base or ports filled with residue. VariSimmer settings that won't stay lit usually mean a dirty burner or a low-fire adjustment that needs attention. Griddles and char-grills have their own burners and thermostats, and the griddle thermostat drifts with age.
Common failure points on Viking cooktops
- SureSpark clicking with knobs off
- Hairline crack in an electrode
- Yellow, lifting flame from a loose cap
- VariSimmer flame going out
- Griddle thermostat reading low

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
At the lowest setting the flame is small and sensitive. A partly blocked burner, a cap off its seat or a low-fire setting that has drifted can let it go out. Cleaning and adjustment usually solve it.
Some difference is normal, but a big gap can mean a partly clogged burner or a thermostat that's drifting. We check the flame along the burner and test the thermostat.
