Fisher & Paykel Cooktop Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Fisher & Paykel. If the cooktop is still inside its Fisher & Paykel warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Fisher & Paykel designs its cooktops
Fisher & Paykel gas cooktops, especially the professional-style models with DCS roots, use sealed burners with spark electrodes and a reignition system that relights the flame if it goes out. When a boil-over soaks a spark switch or electrode, the burners click constantly or refuse to spark. Induction models are different: the zones depend on driver boards cooled by a small fan beneath the glass, and a clogged fan inlet lets the electronics overheat and shut a zone off. Radiant models mostly lose elements or their controlling switch. We check spark and flame sensing on gas units, fan and board temperatures on induction, and element resistance on radiant tops before quoting any part.
Common failure points on Fisher & Paykel cooktops
- Spark switch wet, burners clicking
- Electrode cracked or fouled
- Induction board overheating
- Cooling fan inlet blocked
- Radiant element open circuit

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
A spark switch on one of the knobs is likely wet or failing, which tells the spark module to fire every electrode. Letting the top dry out sometimes stops it. If it doesn't, we find and replace the faulty switch.
