How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Blomberg designs its cooktops
Blomberg cooktops come in gas, induction and radiant electric. Gas models use sealed burners with a spark electrode next to each one and a flame-failure device that shuts off gas if the flame goes out; if a burner lights and then dies when you let go of the knob, that safety thermocouple or its position is the usual suspect. On induction models, the power board and the cooling fan underneath do the heavy work, and a zone that shuts off or shows an error after a few minutes often means the unit can't shed heat, sometimes from a blocked vent in the cabinet below. Radiant tops fail at an element or its limiter. Cracked glass is a separate replacement, and we confirm the full part first.
Common failure points on Blomberg cooktops
- Flame dies once the knob is let go
- Spark electrode cracked
- Induction zone overheating and shutting off
- Power board failure on induction
- Radiant element not heating

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The flame-failure sensor next to the burner isn't getting hot enough to keep the valve open. It may be out of position, dirty or failed, and we test it.
It may be overheating because air can't reach the fan underneath, or it may not recognize the pan. If neither is the cause, we check the power board.
