Accessibility Statement

Our goal

Booking a repair on this site should work for everyone, including people who rely on a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, speak commands, magnify the screen or browse on a small phone. TrueFix Virginia aims for Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 from the World Wide Web Consortium.

The site has not been through an independent accessibility audit. For that reason we describe WCAG 2.1 AA as our target rather than claiming the site meets it in full.

How the pages are built

• each page has one main heading, and the headings beneath it follow a logical order;
• every field on the booking form and the text sign-up form has a label that assistive technology reads out;
• links, menus and buttons all work from the keyboard and show a visible outline when focused;
• text and background colors are chosen for readable contrast;
• images that convey information have written alternatives;
• layouts reflow on narrow screens and remain usable with the browser zoomed to 200%.

Known limitations

There may be problems we have not spotted yet. The interactive maps on the service-area pages are supplied by outside map services and may not work well with assistive technology, so the ZIP codes shown on each map also appear on the page as plain text links. We review pages when we edit them and correct issues as they are reported.

If part of the site keeps you from doing what you came to do, tell us which page it was and what happened, and we will work on a fix. In the meantime you can arrange a repair by phone or email instead.
