Samsung Cooktop Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Samsung designs its cooktops
The three Samsung cooktop types fail in different ways. Gas models have a spark module and a switch on each valve; a boil-over that wets a switch can leave every burner clicking with the knobs off. Radiant glass tops use elements with a limiter that shuts them off when they get too hot, so a pan that doesn't sit flat can make an element cycle off more often than it should. Induction versions, including the ones that project a lit virtual flame onto the pan, have coils, power boards and a small fan hidden under the glass. A clogged intake or a failing fan makes zones shut down mid-cook, and error codes point to the board or the coil sensor. We check the pan, the fan and the codes before looking at boards.
Common failure points on Samsung cooktops
- Spark switch shorted after a spill
- Constant clicking with knobs off
- Radiant element open or limiter tripping
- Induction zone shutting off mid-cook
- Cooling fan blocked under glass
- Cracked glass top

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
It can be. A pan that's too small or not magnetic won't hold the zone on. If the pan is right, the next suspect is heat: a clogged intake or a slow cooling fan lets the electronics overheat, and the zone shuts down to protect itself. We test the fan, sensors and board.
The glass is replaced as a unit, not patched. It is often available as a part, sometimes with the frame. Whether it's worth doing depends on the cooktop's age and the glass price for your model, which we look up before you decide.
