KitchenAid Refrigerator Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to KitchenAid. If the refrigerator is still inside its KitchenAid warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How KitchenAid designs its refrigerators

KitchenAid built-in refrigerators carry their compressor, condenser and fan in a compartment up top, hidden behind the grille. That layout collects dust and heat, and when the condenser fan slows or the coil clogs, the refrigerator warms while the compressor runs constantly. Freestanding French-door models keep their machinery at the bottom rear and fail more like other Whirlpool refrigerators: defrost heaters, thermistors and evaporator fans. Ice makers and water valves are frequent calls on both. Door gaskets on heavy built-in doors tear at the hinge side over time. We check condenser airflow, temperatures, defrost function and the ice maker's water supply before quoting a part.

Common failure points on KitchenAid refrigerators

  • Top condenser fan slowing
  • Condenser coil clogged with dust
  • Defrost heater or thermistor failed
  • Ice maker water valve stuck
  • Hinge-side gasket torn

FAQ

KitchenAid Refrigerator FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

That usually means the condenser fan has slowed or stopped, or the coil is packed with dust. We clean the coil and test the fan first, since those are simpler repairs than the compressor.

Most repairs happen from the top grille or inside the cabinet. Only some sealed-system work or certain water line repairs require sliding it out, and we plan for that with you.
