Roper Refrigerator Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Roper. If the refrigerator is still inside its Roper warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Inside a Roper refrigerator

Roper refrigerators are almost always top-freezers built on Whirlpool's platform, with an evaporator behind the freezer's rear panel, a fan that pushes cold air down into the fresh food section, and a defrost system that melts frost off the coil. When the fresh food section warms up while the freezer stays cold, the evaporator fan, the defrost heater, the defrost thermostat or the defrost control is usually to blame. A clicking noise every few minutes with no cooling points to the start relay or the compressor. Water under the crispers or on the floor is often a blocked drain. We inspect the evaporator coil, then test each defrost part and the fans in turn.

Common failure points on Roper refrigerators

  • Defrost thermostat failed open
  • Evaporator fan stopped by ice
  • Compressor start relay clicking
  • Drain tube plugged with debris
  • Temperature dial broken or loose

Faults shared by every make are explained on the main refrigerator repair page.

FAQ

Roper Refrigerator FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

That's usually the compressor trying to start and the overload shutting it off. The start relay is a common and inexpensive cause. If the compressor itself is failing, replacement is often the better choice.

The defrost system isn't clearing it. The heater, the defrost thermostat or the control that times the defrost cycle has probably failed. We test each one to find the fault.
