Hotpoint Refrigerator Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Hotpoint. If the refrigerator is still inside its Hotpoint warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Hotpoint refrigerator
The typical Hotpoint refrigerator is a top-freezer model with one evaporator in the freezer and a damper that lets cold air into the fresh food section. Because of that layout, a warm fresh food section with a cold freezer usually points to airflow, like a stuck damper, a slow evaporator fan or a coil clogged with frost after a defrost failure. When both sections go warm, we look at the condenser fan, dusty coils underneath and the compressor's start components. Water pooling under the crisper drawers is usually a blocked defrost drain. We remove the freezer's back panel to inspect the coil, then test the defrost heater, thermostat and control before looking deeper.
Common failure points on Hotpoint refrigerators
- Air damper stuck closed
- Frost choking the freezer coil
- Condenser coils packed with dust
- Defrost drain frozen solid
- Crisper cover cracked, water under drawers

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Check that nothing is blocking the vents between the freezer and fridge, and clean the coils underneath. If that doesn't work, the defrost system or the evaporator fan is likely at fault, and that usually needs a technician.
A fan, a defrost part or a thermostat is usually worth it. A compressor or refrigerant leak on an older basic refrigerator often isn't. We diagnose first, then give you both the repair price and our honest view.
