How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Thor Kitchen designs its refrigerators
Thor refrigerators are mostly French door and built-in designs with the freezer below, and on many of them one evaporator behind the freezer wall supplies cold air to both sections. A warm upper compartment above a freezer that's still frozen solid sends us straight to that air path: a coil smothered in frost because the defrost heater, sensor or control has quit, or an evaporator fan that no longer pushes air up the duct. A leak in the sealed system is possible but comes later in the order. Ice makers fail at the inlet valve, a frozen fill tube or the ice maker itself. Panel-ready doors carry extra weight and can sag until the gasket no longer seals, which then shows as sweating in humid weather.
Common failure points on Thor Kitchen refrigerators
- Upper section warm from frost on the coil
- Evaporator fan stopped
- Ice maker fill tube frozen
- Panel-ready door sagging
- Gasket sweating in humid weather

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Cold air for the top section usually comes from the freezer coil. Heavy frost or a stopped fan cuts that supply, and we test those parts before looking at refrigerant.
Fans, valves and sensors are often stocked by distributors. Boards and sealed-system parts may come from Thor, and we give you a realistic arrival estimate at the diagnosis.
