Thor Kitchen Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
Thor Kitchen makes residential appliances that look like restaurant equipment and cost a good deal less than the older pro-style names. Behind the heavy knobs, the parts are mostly conventional, so a Thor is not hard to diagnose, although some parts take longer to get than they would for a mass-market brand. We work on Thor independently and are not part of its service program. If your appliance is still under the maker's warranty, contact Thor first.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Thor Kitchen Products We Service
Pro-style looks at a lower price
Thor Kitchen is a California company, headquartered in Ontario, that appeared in the mid-2010s with one pitch: the stainless bodies, big burners and chunky knobs of a professional-style kitchen for far less money. It designs its appliances in the U.S. and has them built by contract manufacturers overseas, with components sourced from several countries.
It sells to homeowners, not restaurants. In 2024 Thor added a Gordon Ramsay collection built on its existing range, dishwasher and refrigerator designs.
Where Thor turns up
A Thor package is a common choice when a house is renovated to sell or a kitchen is redone on a budget with a high-end look in mind. We see it in updated postwar colonials and ramblers, in newer townhouses, and in kitchen remodels where the owner bought the range, hood, refrigerator and dishwasher as a set.
Because the pieces were often bought together, they tend to reach the end of their warranty at the same time, and the first out-of-coverage repair raises the same question for all of them.
What the range needs most
Most Thor calls involve a range or rangetop: sealed burners with spark ignition, a gas or electric oven below, and often a convection fan. The regular repairs are igniters and electrodes, spark switches, burners fouled by spills, oven igniters or elements, and convection fan motors.
Thor ranges are heavy, and pulling one out across a finished floor takes care. We check the gas connector and the anti-tip bracket whenever a range comes out.
Repair versus replacement
Since Thor costs less than the legacy pro brands, the repair decision is tighter. Igniters, burners, elements, fans and hinges are usually well worth replacing. A sealed-system failure in a refrigerator or a control board in an inexpensive dishwasher is a closer call, and we tell you what the part costs and how long it takes to arrive before you choose.
Thor Kitchen products we see
- Refrigerators: French door, built-in and panel-ready refrigerators with bottom freezers. Typical faults: a warm upper section from defrost trouble, ice maker failure, fan noise and sagging doors.
- Dishwashers: 24-inch stainless dishwashers sized to sit beside a Thor range. Common repairs: drain problems, inlet valves, latches, hinge springs and unresponsive controls.
- Ovens: Thor wall ovens and the oven cavities of its ranges, gas or electric, often with convection. Igniters, elements, convection fans, sensors and heavy-door hinges wear most.
- Microwaves: Microwave drawers and built-in microwaves. Common faults: no heat, a drawer that won't open or stops partway, and dead control panels.
- Cooktops: Gas rangetops plus gas and induction cooktops. Spark electrodes, ignition switches, clogged burners and induction zones that shut off are the usual calls.
- Wine Coolers: Built-in undercounter and dual-zone wine coolers. Owners call about a zone that won't hold temperature, a stopped fan or door seals that have lost their grip.
- Stoves: The burner half of a Thor range. Continuous clicking, burners that won't light and weak or uneven flames account for most visits.
- Ranges: 30- to 48-inch gas, dual-fuel, electric and induction ranges, some with two ovens. Igniters, elements, convection fans, valves and door hinges are the usual repairs.
Parts for Thor Kitchen
Fewer general parts suppliers stock Thor than the big domestic brands, so some parts come through Thor itself. Igniters, electrodes, knobs, elements and fan motors are generally obtainable; control boards and refrigeration parts can take longer. We confirm the part against the model and serial number and tell you the expected wait before you approve the repair.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Residential. It looks like restaurant gear, but it's sold for home kitchens and is serviced as household equipment.
The collection comes from Thor and is based on its existing designs, so the repairs are similar. Parts are still ordered by the full model number on the rating label.
Thor isn't carried as widely by parts houses, so some orders go to the company itself. You'll know the likely lead time at the diagnosis.
Contact Thor first while the maker's warranty applies. We're independent and can help once the coverage has ended.
