LG Refrigerator Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to LG. If the refrigerator is still inside its LG warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How LG designs its refrigerators
LG refrigerators fail in a few recognizable ways. Many French-door models make ice in a compartment built into the left-hand door, chilled by a small fan that borrows air from the freezer; when that duct frosts over, ice production stops and the display can show Er IF for the ice fan. Er FF points to the freezer fan, and Er dH to a defrost problem. Models from the linear-compressor era can lose cooling when the compressor or its inverter drive fails, which shows as a warm cabinet with fans running normally. Condenser fan motors under the unit also stall and cause overheating. We confirm airflow and defrost before diagnosing the sealed system, then check whether manufacturer coverage applies.
Common failure points on LG refrigerators
- Door ice maker compartment frosted
- Er IF ice fan frozen in place
- Linear compressor not starting
- Condenser fan motor seized
- Er dH defrost heater or sensor

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Often the ice fan is frozen rather than broken, and thawing the compartment clears the code for a while. If it keeps returning, the ice compartment seals, defrost or the fan itself needs attention, which we diagnose on site.
Fans running with no cooling suggests the compressor isn't starting or isn't pumping, or the condenser fan has failed. We check the condenser, the inverter drive and the compressor, then tell you whether manufacturer coverage may apply.
