Sharp Microwave Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Sharp. If the microwave is still inside its Sharp warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How Sharp designs its microwaves

Sharp's Microwave Drawer puts a motorized drawer in front of an ordinary microwave cavity. Press open and a small motor drives a gear rack along the slides; switches tell the control when the drawer is fully in or out. When the drawer won't move, stalls partway or bounces back, look to the motor, a stripped rack, a worn slide, debris in the track or a position switch. When it opens and closes normally but food stays cold, the fault is on the high-voltage side: magnetron, diode, capacitor or an interlock. Over-the-range models add a vent fan and light; countertop units are simpler. The capacitor holds a lethal charge, so testing belongs to a technician. We check drawer and cooking systems separately.

Common failure points on Sharp microwaves

  • Drawer drive motor not turning
  • Gear rack teeth stripped
  • Drawer position switch failed
  • Magnetron not producing heat
  • Hood fan dead on OTR model

Everything else about repairing a microwave is collected on one page for all makes.

FAQ

Sharp Microwave FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

Crumbs or a utensil in the track, a worn slide, a weak motor or a damaged gear rack can all do it. We inspect the mechanism and replace the part that's worn.

The cooking system is separate from the drawer drive. A failed magnetron, diode, capacitor or interlock switch is likely, and we test those on site.
