How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Electrolux designs its microwaves
Electrolux microwaves include over-the-range units that also vent the cooktop, built-in models set into a wall oven combination, and drawer microwaves installed below the counter. When it spins and hums yet leaves food cold, the high-voltage side (the magnetron, diode or capacitor) has let go, and those parts are tested only after the stored charge is safely bled off. One that won't start or blows its fuse points to the door interlock switches. Drawer models add a motor and gear track that can jam when something falls behind the drawer. Over-the-range models collect grease in the vent fan and filters. We test the high-voltage circuit and door switches, and tell you if the repair doesn't make sense for the unit's age.
Common failure points on Electrolux microwaves
- Magnetron or diode failed, no heat
- Door interlock switch blown
- Drawer motor jammed on its track
- Vent fan clogged with grease
- Turntable motor stalled

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The drawer is moved by a small motor and gear track. Something stuck behind the drawer, a stripped gear or a failed motor or switch can stop it. We check the track and motor and replace what's worn.
It may be. Grease builds up on the fan and filters over time, and worn bearings make noise. Clean the filters first. If it's still loud, we can replace the fan motor.
