How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Blomberg designs its microwaves
Microwaves are a small part of Blomberg's lineup, so the first step is identifying exactly which model you have and who supplies its parts. The failures are the same as in any microwave. When the light, fan and turntable all run but the food stays cold, the fault is in the circuit that powers the magnetron, and each part of it has to be tested in turn. If the whole thing is dark, check the ceramic fuse on the power line, then ask why it went; a shorted door switch is the usual answer. Touch panels can stop responding after steam or cleaning spray gets behind them. We discharge the capacitor before testing, and because microwaves cost less than most appliances, we tell you if the part isn't worth it.
Common failure points on Blomberg microwaves
- Runs but doesn't heat
- Dead from a blown fuse
- Door interlock switch failure
- Touch panel unresponsive
- Turntable motor stopped

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Often, but a new fuse alone rarely lasts, because a failed door switch is what blew it. We test the switches before replacing the fuse.
For a switch, fuse or turntable motor, usually. A magnetron or control board on an older unit may cost more than it's worth, and we'll say so.
