Smeg Oven Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Smeg. If the oven is still inside its Smeg warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Smeg designs its ovens
Smeg built-in ovens and range ovens have more fans than most. The convection fan circulates heat inside the cavity, and a separate cooling fan pushes air across the controls and out through a vent above the door. If the cooling fan fails, the oven can overheat its controls and shut down, and a fan that runs all the time may have a failed thermostat. Convection fan bearings wear and become noisy. Bake, broil and ring elements fail, and a drifting temperature sensor causes uneven results. Door hinges and glass can loosen with age. We test each fan, element and sensor, check the cooling system, and only then look at the control.
Common failure points on Smeg ovens
- Cooling fan not running, oven shutting off
- Convection fan bearing noisy
- Ring element open
- Temperature sensor out of range
- Door glass loose in its frame

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Overheating is a common cause, often because the cooling fan has failed. The oven protects its electronics by shutting down. We test the cooling fan and its thermostat, then the rest of the oven.
Many Smeg doors can be taken apart for cleaning; the manual explains how. Be careful with the glass. If a pane has come loose or the door won't close properly, we can reassemble or repair it.
