Amana Oven Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Amana. If the oven is still inside its Amana warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside an Amana oven
There is nothing exotic in an Amana oven. The electric version has one element low in the cavity for baking, one at the ceiling for broiling, and a thin probe on the rear wall. The gas version has a flat glow bar that must heat enough to open the safety valve. Two complaints dominate: a gas oven that sits for a minute or more before the burner catches, which is an aging glow bar, and an electric oven that browns tops but leaves the bottoms pale, which is a burned-out lower element. Temperatures that swing far from the setting lead us to the sensor. Self-cleaning can blow a thermal fuse or leave the door lock stuck. We test each of these before touching the control board.
Common failure points on Amana ovens
- Bar igniter too weak
- Bake element failed
- Oven sensor reading wrong
- Thermal fuse blown after self-clean
- Door lock stuck
Faults shared by every make are explained on the main oven repair page.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Most likely the glow bar is wearing out. It still lights up orange, yet the valve waits longer each time to open. It's a routine part to swap.
The lower element has probably failed, leaving the top element to heat the whole cavity. We confirm with a meter and change it.
