How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside an Admiral oven
Admiral ovens live inside basic 30-inch ranges. Electric versions have a bake element that is either exposed on the cavity floor or hidden beneath it, a broil element in the ceiling and a temperature sensor on the back wall. Gas versions rely on a glow-bar igniter that must pass enough current to let the oven safety valve open; with age it keeps glowing yet can't open the valve any more, so the oven stays cold. Door hinges wear and let heat escape, and a sensor that drifts makes baked goods come out uneven. These faults are easy to confirm with a meter, which keeps the repair aimed at the right part instead of the control board.
Common failure points on Admiral ovens
- Glow-bar igniter slow to open valve
- Bake element blistered and open
- Oven sensor out of range
- Door hinges letting heat escape
- Broil element not heating

Admiral Oven FAQ
Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.
Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
A tired igniter can delay ignition, which causes a brief smell and a soft whoomp when the gas finally lights. Stop using the oven and book a check. If you smell gas with everything turned off, get out of the house and call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line from outside.
A sensor reading low can make the bake element run too long. A dark pan or a rack placed too low contributes too. We test the sensor and the control's temperature output.
