Avanti Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
Avanti makes appliances sized for places where a standard 30-inch range or a 36-inch refrigerator simply won't fit. The company is based in Doral, Florida, and has belonged to The Legacy Companies since 2019. We don't work for Avanti or its warranty program. A unit still inside its coverage should go back to Avanti before anyone else opens it. Once that window has closed, we'll come out, test it where it sits and tell you straight whether it earns a repair. Small appliances make that call sharper than big ones do: a stuck thermostat or a dead igniter is worth fixing, while a leaking refrigerant circuit on a mini fridge rarely is.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

A compact brand with rotating suppliers
Avanti designs and specifies its products, but the factories that assemble them change from line to line and from year to year. Two wine coolers with the same door and trim can hide different compressors or control boards underneath. For that reason the first thing we do on an Avanti call is photograph the rating plate, usually inside the cabinet on a refrigerator or behind the kick panel or door on a range, and order parts from the full model and serial number rather than the product's general description.
Rooms where these units tend to live
Around Northern Virginia, Avanti products show up where space is tight or the appliance is a second one. Studio and one-bedroom condos along the Metro lines sometimes came with a 24-inch Avanti range and a narrow refrigerator. Basement suites in older ramblers, often rented out or used by a relative, commonly have an apartment-size fridge and a small range. Offices, home bars and garages collect mini fridges and chest freezers.
Garages deserve a special mention. A compact freezer or beverage fridge out there runs hard through a humid July and can struggle to cycle normally in a January cold snap, and neither situation means a part has failed.
Deciding whether an Avanti is worth fixing
We give the honest answer before any money is spent. On compact refrigeration, replaceable components such as the thermostat, a fan, the start relay, a light switch or the door gasket are usually fair repairs. A compressor, an evaporator leak or a clogged refrigerant line on a small cabinet generally costs more than the unit is worth, and we'll say so.
Ranges and cooktops sit closer to full-size equipment. Igniters, valves, elements and switches are separate parts, and the body of a narrow range often has years left once the worn piece is replaced.
Avanti products we see
- Refrigerators: Mini fridges, counter-height units and apartment-size top-freezer models up to roughly 10 or 12 cubic feet. Typical calls: warm fresh food, frost packing the freezer, a noisy fan and a door that no longer seals.
- Washers: Portable and compact top-load washers that hook up to a sink faucet or a standard laundry box. We see drain pumps that stall, lids that won't lock, and tubs that won't spin out.
- Dryers: Compact electric dryers meant for closets and small laundry corners. Common complaints are no heat, a drum that won't turn, and long dry times caused by a crushed or lint-packed vent.
- Ovens: The oven cavity in Avanti's 20- and 24-inch ranges and its built-in models. We test bake and broil elements, gas igniters, safety valves, thermostats and door hinges.
- Microwaves: Countertop and over-the-range Avanti microwaves. For safety we only take on repairs we can do properly: door switches, turntable motors and a few specific faults. We'll tell you when replacement makes more sense.
- Freezers: Small chest and upright freezers that end up in basements, pantries and garages. We check the thermostat, the compressor start components, the lid or door seal and, on frost-free uprights, the defrost parts.
- Cooktops: Two- and four-burner gas and electric cooktops, including glass-top models. Typical faults are a burner that won't light, a coil or radiant zone that stays cold, and a stuck infinite switch.
- Wine Coolers: Thermoelectric and compressor wine coolers, single- and dual-zone, freestanding and built-in. Most calls are about a zone running warm, a fan that has quit or frost on the back wall.
- Stoves: What most people call the stove: a narrow Avanti gas or electric range in an apartment, suite or cottage kitchen, with burners on top and a small oven below.
- Ranges: Avanti 20- and 24-inch freestanding ranges in gas and electric. We handle igniters, spark modules, surface elements, oven elements, thermostats and control knobs.
Parts for Avanti
Avanti runs its own parts department, and routine items such as thermostats, door gaskets, shelves, knobs, igniters and elements are listed for many current models. Because Avanti uses more than one factory, the same looking unit can take a different part depending on its production run, so we order from the full model and serial number. Some older or short-run models have been dropped from the parts catalog. When that happens we look for an equivalent part, tell you it is an equivalent, and let you decide.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Avanti is a Doral, Florida brand owned by The Legacy Companies. It designs its products and has them built by contract factories, which is why parts are matched to the specific model and serial number instead of the general type of appliance.
It tells us the unit has power, and not much else. The light circuit is separate from the cooling side. We listen for the compressor, check whether the thermostat is closing, and test the start relay and overload before looking at anything sealed.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A failed thermostat, fan or door seal usually is worth it. A sealed-system leak on a compact fridge usually isn't. We diagnose first, give you the number, and you decide.
