Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside an Avanti wine cooler
Avanti sells two very different kinds of wine cooler, and the first step is to find out which one you own. Thermoelectric models have no compressor; they move heat with a solid-state module and a pair of fans, and their cooling is limited to a fixed gap below the room's temperature. Put one in a warm room and the cabinet warms with it, which isn't a defect. Compressor models behave like small refrigerators, with a thermostat or sensor, a fan and a sealed system. Dual-zone units add a second sensor and sometimes a heater. We check the room, the sensor readings and the fans before judging the cooling module or compressor, and we tell you honestly if a failed thermoelectric module isn't worth replacing.
Common failure points on Avanti wine coolers
- Thermoelectric module losing its cooling
- Interior or heat sink fan stopped
- Temperature sensor misreading
- Condensation dripping inside the cabinet
- Compressor start relay failing

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
If it's a thermoelectric model in a warm room, possibly not. These units cool relative to the air around them. We check whether the fans and module are working, and if they are, moving it to a cooler spot usually solves it.
Humid air getting past a worn door seal condenses on the cold back wall and runs down. A blocked drain channel can also hold water. We check the gasket and the drain before anything else.
