Hotpoint Dishwasher Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Hotpoint. If the dishwasher is still inside its Hotpoint warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Hotpoint dishwasher
Hotpoint dishwashers are basic machines, usually with a plastic tub, a manual filter at the bottom, and a single pump or a pump and drain motor combination. The problems we see most are drain backups caused by a clogged filter or a disposal connection, a detergent cup that won't open because of a worn latch or a failed solenoid, and a door gasket that leaks after years of use. A dishwasher that won't fill may have a failed inlet valve or a stuck float. Dirty dishes after a cycle usually mean clogged spray arms or low water. We clean the filter and spray arms, run the cycle, and test the valve, pump and door switch.
Common failure points on Hotpoint dishwashers
- Manual filter clogged with debris
- Detergent cup latch not releasing
- Inlet valve not opening
- Float stuck in the up position
- Door gasket leaking at the bottom corners

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The latch may be worn, detergent may be caking inside the cup, or the part that triggers it may have failed. We check the latch and test the dispenser actuator during a cycle.
For a valve, a latch, a gasket or a float switch, usually yes. For a failed motor on an older plastic-tub model, the numbers can get close to a new unit, and we'll give you both options.
