Atosa Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
Atosa USA is based in Brea, California, and sells a broad line of commercial refrigeration and cooking equipment at a price that appeals to new and independent restaurants. Much of its current refrigeration runs on R-290, a hydrocarbon refrigerant. We are an independent repair company and not an Atosa authorized service agent. Equipment still covered by Atosa's warranty should go through Atosa first, since outside work can complicate a claim. For equipment beyond coverage, we come to your kitchen, diagnose the fault, explain what failed and quote the repair before starting.
How a Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

Atosa Products We Service
What's inside an Atosa cabinet
Atosa reach-ins and prep tables are built around a stainless cabinet, a self-contained refrigeration system with the condensing unit on top or at the bottom depending on the model, an evaporator with a fan, and a digital controller reading one or more probes. The controller runs the compressor, the fans and, on freezers, the defrost heater. It also displays alarms and error codes that point us to a probe or a circuit.
That layout keeps most repairs straightforward. Fans, probes, door gaskets, hinges, controllers and defrost heaters are all separate parts.
R-290 changes how the work is done
Many current Atosa models use R-290, which is propane in refrigeration-grade form. It's efficient, and the systems carry small charges, but it's flammable, so any sealed-system work requires the right tools, ventilation and procedures. The small charge also means a minor leak affects cooling quickly.
We identify the refrigerant from the data plate before any sealed-system diagnosis and explain what the repair will involve.
Where we see Atosa equipment
Atosa is common in independent restaurants, cafés, food halls, pizza shops and catering kitchens across Northern Virginia, especially in newer places that opened with a tight budget. Strip-center kitchens along the main roads and newer mixed-use buildings near Metro stations are typical settings.
Commercial kitchens bring their own conditions: heat from the line, grease in the air, doors opening all service long. A reach-in next to a fryer or a prep table under a hot window works much harder than one in a cool back room, and that shows up in fan and compressor wear.
Planning service around your kitchen
Tell us your service hours when you book, and we'll say at the start of the visit whether food needs to move to another unit. Before the visit, check with your landlord or building about access rules, especially in mixed-use buildings with loading docks or set work hours. We'll let you know whether a repair can be done on the first visit or needs a part ordered.
Atosa products we see
- Refrigerators: Atosa reach-in refrigerators, glass-door merchandisers, undercounter and worktop units, and sandwich, salad and pizza prep tables. We fix warm cabinets, iced evaporators, fan failures, probe and controller faults and torn gaskets.
- Freezers: Atosa reach-in and undercounter freezers, including dual-temperature units. We diagnose defrost heater failures, drain line freezing, fan motors, probe errors and doors that won't seal.
- Ice Makers: Atosa YR series modular and undercounter cube ice machines. We handle slow production, harvest problems, water supply issues, scale, and air-cooled condenser buildup.
Parts for Atosa
Atosa parts are available through Atosa's parts supply and commercial refrigeration distributors. Fans, gaskets, probes, controllers and defrost heaters are commonly stocked, while compressors and model-specific parts can take longer. We confirm the part from the unit's data plate, use Atosa parts where they're available and tell you before using an equivalent.
Common Atosa Questions
Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.
Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
No. We're independent. If your Atosa is still under warranty, contact Atosa first so the claim goes through their process. We work on equipment that's out of warranty or where the owner prefers independent service.
Yes, with the right procedures and tools. R-290 is flammable, so sealed-system repairs need ventilation, ignition control and proper recovery. Many Atosa failures, like fans, probes and gaskets, don't involve the refrigerant at all.
Move perishables to another cooler right away and track temperatures for your food safety records. Then call for service. Don't keep opening the door to check, since that lets cold air out.
