How Atosa designs its ice makers
Atosa's YR series ice machines are air-cooled cube machines that freeze water on an evaporator plate, then run a harvest cycle to release the ice into the bin. In a restaurant, slow production is usually caused by a dirty air-cooled condenser, scale on the evaporator or a restricted water supply. A machine stuck in harvest or not harvesting may have a sensor issue or scale that keeps the ice from releasing. When water shows up on the floor, a slow bin drain or a loose water fitting is usually behind it. The machine also depends on its location: tucked into a hot back room with little airflow, it can't reject heat. We check airflow, water and drain, then clean and test sensors and valves.
Common failure points on Atosa ice makers
- Air-cooled condenser clogged
- Scale stopping ice from releasing
- Water inlet valve restricted
- Bin drain backing up
- Harvest sensor misreading

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Air-cooled ice machines lose production when the room and incoming water are warm. A dirty condenser makes it worse. We clean the condenser, check airflow and water, and compare production to the spec.
Follow the manual's cleaning schedule, and clean more often with hard water or in a hot, greasy kitchen. Scale and slime reduce production and can affect ice quality and food safety.
