Hotpoint Freezer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Hotpoint. If the freezer is still inside its Hotpoint warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Hotpoint freezer
Hotpoint freezers are uncomplicated. Chest models are nearly all manual-defrost, with a thermostat, a compressor and cooling tubes in the walls. Uprights come either way, and the frost-free kind brings an evaporator fan and a timed defrost circuit into the picture. When a freezer stops keeping food frozen, we first check that the compressor starts and runs, test the thermostat, and look at the lid or door seal. On uprights we also inspect the coil for frost and test the defrost circuit. Garage placement is a frequent factor. A freezer in a hot or cold garage behaves differently from one in a basement, and that can look like a failure when it isn't.
Common failure points on Hotpoint freezers

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
The compressor may be trying to start and failing, which often means a bad start relay or overload. We test those first. If the compressor itself is failing, replacement may make more sense than repair.
Unplug it, move the food to coolers, prop the lid open and let the ice melt into towels or a tray. Don't use sharp tools. Once dry, plug it back in and let it cool for several hours before reloading.
