Frigidaire Freezer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Frigidaire. If the freezer is still inside its Frigidaire warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Freezer Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How Frigidaire designs its freezers

Frigidaire makes many standalone freezers, both upright and chest, and many sit in garages and basements. Manual-defrost chest freezers rarely fail except for the compressor start relay, the thermostat or a leak. Frost-free uprights add a defrost heater, a defrost timer or control, and an evaporator fan, and a failure there makes the freezer warm up gradually. Garage Ready models are designed for a wider temperature range, but older non-Garage Ready units can struggle when the garage gets very hot or cold. A torn gasket lets in humid air, and frost builds quickly. We check the room conditions, relay, thermostat and defrost system before looking at the sealed system.

Common failure points on Frigidaire freezers

  • Start relay clicking, compressor not running
  • Defrost heater failed on a frost-free upright
  • Thermostat not cycling
  • Gasket split along the hinge side
  • Struggling in a hot or cold garage

Faults shared by every make are explained on the main freezer repair page.

FAQ

Frigidaire Freezer FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

A clicking sound every few minutes is often the compressor's start relay or overload trying to start it. It could also be the compressor itself. Garage temperatures can make it harder. We test the relay and compressor to find the cause.

Garage Ready models are built to handle a wider temperature range. An older freezer without that rating may not run properly when the garage is very hot or near freezing. Check the manual for your model's operating range.
