Roper Dryer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Roper. If the dryer is still inside its Roper warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Roper dryer
A Roper dryer is essentially a basic Whirlpool 29-inch dryer, and those have well-known failure points. A thermal fuse on the blower housing opens when airflow is poor, stopping the dryer or its heat depending on the model. Electric versions add a thermal cutoff and a high-limit thermostat near the element. Gas versions use an igniter, a flame sensor and valve coils. The drum rides on rear rollers and is driven by a belt kept tight by an idler pulley, and all three wear out. We check the vent from the dryer to the outside hood, test the fuses and heat source, and inspect the drive parts by hand.
Common failure points on Roper dryers
- Thermal fuse on the blower housing blown
- Thermal cutoff open on electric model
- Gas igniter cracked
- Rear drum roller worn
- Idler pulley squealing

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Yes. On many Roper electric dryers, a thermal cutoff near the element opens and stops the heat while the drum still turns. A clogged vent is often why it failed, so we check the vent too.
The thermal fuse on the blower housing, the door switch and the start switch are common causes. We also check the outlet and breaker, since a dryer needs both 240-volt legs on electric models.
