Maytag Dryer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Maytag. If the dryer is still inside its Maytag warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How Maytag designs its dryers

Maytag dryers come out of Whirlpool's Marion, Ohio plant and follow a familiar layout: drum on rear rollers, belt and idler at the bottom, blower wheel feeding the exhaust, and a thermal fuse that opens when air can't escape. In a townhouse closet with a long, bending vent run to an outside wall, restricted airflow is the most common root cause of a no-heat call. Electric models then show a failed element or high-limit thermostat; gas models a worn igniter or weak valve coils. A dryer that heats but takes two cycles may have a lint-choked moisture sensor or duct. Noise points to rollers, the idler or a worn drum glide. We look at the vent every time.

Common failure points on Maytag dryers

  • Thermal fuse opened by vent restriction
  • Gas igniter cracked or weak
  • Moisture sensor bars coated
  • Drum rollers thumping
  • Idler pulley squealing at start

FAQ

Maytag Dryer FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

In closets the vent is the first suspect, because long runs with several bends choke airflow. We measure how the dryer is breathing, check the duct and the heating circuit, and tell you which one is holding things up.

Lint film or fabric-softener residue on the sensor bars can make the control think the load is dry. Clean the bars with a cloth dampened in rubbing alcohol and try again. If cycles still end early, the thermostat or control board is next on our list.
