Amana Dryer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Amana. If the dryer is still inside its Amana warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside an Amana dryer
Amana dryers use Whirlpool's 29-inch design, which has been around long enough that nearly every failure is familiar. A drum that tumbles in cold air on an electric model gets a continuity check of its fuse, its coil element and the high-limit; on a gas model we watch whether the igniter glows and the coils open the valve. If it won't start at all, the thermal fuse, door switch or start switch is usually the culprit. Squeaking and thumping usually trace back to the drum rollers, the idler pulley or a belt that has started to fray. What most failures have in common is a clogged exhaust. A crushed foil transition hose behind the dryer or a vent packed with lint makes the dryer run hot and slow until a fuse gives out. We look at the vent every time.
Common failure points on Amana dryers
- Thermal fuse tripped by a clogged vent
- Element or igniter failure
- Door switch not closing
- Drum rollers squeaking
- Belt snapped
Faults shared by every make are explained on the main dryer repair page.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Often a thermal fuse blew because the vent was restricted. We replace the fuse and the part that failed, and show you where the airflow was blocked so it doesn't happen again.
Yes. Rollers, idler pulleys and glides are inexpensive parts and usually quiet the dryer right down.
