Whirlpool Dryer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

We are independent and have no tie to Whirlpool. If the dryer is still inside its Whirlpool warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.

Stacked & closet laundry
Townhouses and condos often put a stacked washer-dryer in an upstairs closet, so a small drip can end up staining the room underneath. Tell us where the machines sit.
Condo & high-rise rules
Many managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator or set work hours. Check with yours and pass the rules along when you book.
Parking & access
Visitor spaces, garage clearance, gate codes and front-desk sign-in all shape a visit. Mention them at booking so nothing holds up the diagnosis.
Rentals & landlords
A tenant can book the visit. We report the fault and the price to the owner or property manager, who signs off before any work starts.
Garages, heat & humidity
A garage fridge or freezer can struggle through a hot, humid summer or a hard cold snap without any part failing. Check the temperature range in its manual.
Straight answers
When an older appliance isn't worth repairing, we say so and explain exactly which part failed.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us What's Wrong

Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.

02

Diagnosis at Your Home

The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.

03

A Price Before Work

We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.

04

Repair and Check

The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.

How Whirlpool designs its dryers

Whirlpool's electric dryers protect themselves with a thermal fuse, and a clogged exhaust vent is the most common reason it blows. The dryer then won't start at all, or runs without heat depending on the model. Replacing the fuse without clearing the vent just sets up the next failure, so the vent run is checked every time. Electric models also lose heat when the element coil breaks. Gas models light with an igniter and then open the valve with small coils on the gas valve; when those coils weaken, the dryer lights once and then won't relight. Squeaks and thumps come from worn drum rollers, the idler pulley or the belt. In stacked units in townhouse closets, the vent often runs a long way, which is worth knowing.

Common failure points on Whirlpool dryers

  • Thermal fuse blown by a clogged vent
  • Element coil broken
  • Gas valve coils weak
  • Drum rollers flat and thumping
  • Idler pulley squealing

FAQ

Whirlpool Dryer FAQ

Brief answers to what customers most often ask us. Don't see yours? Ask when you call, or add it to the notes when you book online.

Still have a question?

Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.

Usually not. A tripped breaker, a failed door switch or an open thermal fuse is far more likely. The fuse typically blows from a restricted vent, so we check the vent along with it.

The gas valve coils are a common cause, since they can open the valve once and then fail when hot. The igniter and flame sensor are tested as well.
