Electrolux Dryer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Electrolux designs its dryers
Most Electrolux dryer complaints are about heat, and the vent comes before any part. A long or crushed duct makes the dryer run hot, cycle its thermostats and eventually blow the thermal fuse, after which it tumbles without heating or won't start. Gas models use an igniter and two valve coils; weak coils let the igniter glow, the flame light briefly, then go out. Electric models lose heating elements. Steam models add a small water valve and a nozzle that can scale over. Sensor drying depends on two metal strips inside the drum, and fabric softener residue on those strips makes the dryer stop too soon. We measure vent airflow and test the heat circuit before recommending parts.
Common failure points on Electrolux dryers
- Thermal fuse opened by poor airflow
- Gas valve coils too weak to hold flame
- Element broken on electric models
- Moisture strips coated with residue
- Steam nozzle clogged with scale
Faults shared by every make are explained on the main dryer repair page.

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
It often means the gas valve coils are weakening. The igniter lights the flame, but the valve doesn't stay open. We confirm by watching the flame and testing the coils and igniter, and we check the vent while we're there.
The moisture sensor strips inside the drum may be coated with residue from dryer sheets or softener, so the dryer thinks the load is dry. Wipe them with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't help, we test the sensor, thermistor and heat circuit.
