Roper Washer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Roper. If the washer is still inside its Roper warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Roper washer
Roper top-loaders fall into two families. The older ones use Whirlpool's direct-drive design, where the motor connects to the transmission through a coupler with rubber and plastic pieces that break when the machine is overloaded. The newer ones are low-water designs with an impeller or small agitator, a lid lock, a pump, and a motor controlled by a board. Direct-drive machines that fill and drain but won't agitate or spin usually have a broken coupler. On newer models, a lid lock fault or a drain problem stops the cycle before spin. We identify the family from the model number, run the diagnostic, and check the drain path and drive before quoting.
Common failure points on Roper washers
- Motor coupler broken from overloading
- Lid lock not locking
- Drain pump blocked
- Agitator dogs worn smooth
- Tub bearing noise on spin

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
On many older Roper models, the motor coupler breaks, which is a common and inexpensive repair. We confirm it by checking the drive before recommending anything bigger.
The lid lock may not be confirming that it's locked, so the control won't start the cycle. We test the lock and its wiring, and make sure the lid strike isn't bent.
