Fisher & Paykel Washer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Fisher & Paykel. If the washer is still inside its Fisher & Paykel warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
How Fisher & Paykel designs its washers
Fisher & Paykel washers fall into two groups. Older top-loaders use the SmartDrive direct-drive motor, where the rotor sits on the bottom of the drum and a position sensor tells the controller where it is; when that sensor or a stator winding goes, the machine stalls, jerks or throws a fault mid-cycle. The newer 27-inch front-loaders fail more like other front-loaders, with drain pumps clogged by socks and coins, door locks that won't confirm, and worn dampers that let the tub bang in spin. In an upstairs laundry closet, a drain or hose fault is worth catching early. We run a service test, check the sensor and motor readings, and inspect the drain path before recommending any part.
Common failure points on Fisher & Paykel washers
- SmartDrive position sensor fault
- Stator coil open or shorted
- Front-load drain pump jammed
- Door lock failing to confirm
- Dampers worn, tub knocks in spin

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
Often it is, because the fault is frequently the rotor position sensor, which is a small part. A damaged stator is a larger repair. We test both and give you a straight answer on whether the machine justifies it.
Look for a clogged pump filter behind the lower front panel if your model has one, and make sure the drain hose isn't kinked behind the machine. If both are clear, the pump itself or its wiring is next, and we can test that.
