Hotpoint Washer Repair for Owners, Renters and Landlords
We are independent and have no tie to Hotpoint. If the washer is still inside its Hotpoint warranty, the manufacturer should be your first call. Once that coverage has ended, include the model number and the symptom in your booking so parts can be looked up ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us What's Wrong
Name the make, add the model number if it is handy, and describe the symptom. A picture of the label inside the door lets us check parts.
Diagnosis at Your Home
The technician tests the appliance along with its power, water, drain, gas or vent connections until the fault is confirmed.
A Price Before Work
We name the failed part and give you the cost of fixing it. Work starts only after you agree.
Repair and Check
The part is installed and the appliance is run through a cycle so you can watch it working.
Inside a Hotpoint washer
Hotpoint top-load washers share their drive design with GE top-loaders of the same generation, and the problems follow suit. A washer that fills and agitates but won't spin often has a shifter or lid switch fault. One that won't drain may have a clogged pump or a kinked hose. A loud bang during spin usually means the tub is out of balance or the suspension rods have worn. Leaks under the cabinet tend to come from a hose, a pump seal or the tub seal. We watch the machine run through a cycle, check the drain path, test the lid switch and shifter, and inspect the suspension before quoting anything.
Common failure points on Hotpoint washers
- Lid switch actuator broken
- Suspension rods worn, tub banging
- Drain pump clogged with lint
- Tub seal leaking under the cabinet
- Timer knob not advancing

Still have a question?
Get in touch with the brand, the symptom and, if you can find it, the model number. Some things we can answer right away; others need a technician in front of the machine.
It could be an unbalanced load or an unlevel machine. If it happens with small, even loads, the suspension rods or springs are probably worn, which is a fair repair on most models.
The lid switch or its plastic actuator is a common cause. We test the switch and the timer or control. A washer that hums without moving may have a motor or drive fault.
